Vellore district Rajnikanth fan club treasurer Ravi’s brother Murugan-Rajalakshmi’s wedding was held at Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam in Chennai this week.
Ravi’s family had invited Rajnikanth for the wedding. But, Superstar Rajnikanth has made it a habit not to attend any of his fans’ weddings so as not to hurt their sentiments by attending one wedding and skipping another. Rajnikanth generally avoids attending such functions. Ravi’s family too was under the impression that Superstar will not attend their family wedding.
But, to everyone’s sweet shock and surprise, Superstar Rajnikanth made a surprise visit to Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam in Chennai for the couple’s reception at about 7 pm and left in a short while. The stunned wedding couple and other guests took time to realize that their favourite star is amidst them.
To say a word about bridegroom Murugan’s devotion to Rajinikanth: Murugan was the one who flew to Singapore to see his favourite hero, Rajinikanth when he was hospitalized in Singapore. Murugan had requested Ms Latha Rajinikanth to see his hero in person and only when he was sure Rajinikanth would recover soon, he returned back to Chennai.
Both the brothers – Ravi and Murugan are ardent and passionate fans of Superstar Rajnikanth. They showed their love and devotion to Superstar by climbing the steps of Sholingar Lakshmi Narasimhan temple on their knees and prayed to the Almighty for Rajnikanth’s recovery. Ravi’s knees got severely injured in this incident for which he had to undergo hospitalization for about two months.
Superstar Rajnikanth is said to have been so moved to know about their love for him;he was so moved that he even made a mention of these die-hard fans in his birthday celebration function, sources say.
