Madonna converts new daughter to 'Kabbalah'?

Pop diva Madonna has got her new daughter Mercy converted to Kabbalah as soon as she arrived in London.

The singer flew the four-year-old Malawian orphan from the African country's capital Lilongwe to London to start a new life but rushed her to a Kabbalah centre first, as soon as her private jet landed, reports contactmusic.com.

Madonna was also accompanied by her other children Lourdes, 12, Rocco, 8, and David, 3, for Mercy's first lesson in the Jewish-based faith.

Scarlett Johansson tipped for 'Bride of Frankenstein' remake!

If sources are to be believed, Scarlett Johansson is being considered for the lead role in 'The Bride of Frankenstein' remake.

The project, based on the 1935 horror classic, will be directed by Neil Burger, reports the China Daily.

And the 24-year-old actress is tipped to portray a sexier version of the terrifying female monster in the updated version.

"The Bride of Frankenstein will be young this time. They''re looking for a person with great power and sex appeal. Someone along the lines of Scarlett Johansson or Anne Hathaway,” a source said.

English actress Elsa Lanchester played the role in the older version.

Wolverine hunk Hugh Jackman may make a living tearing things to shreds on the big screen, but on the domestic front it's an entirely different matter.

Lady Gaga claims that she would rather stay at home and write music than attend a showbiz bash.

The ''Poker Face'' singer - who is known for her party girl lifestyle and outrageous fashion choices – says that she has no time to attend celebrity parties.

The 23-year-old insists that she prefers to stay in and concentrate on new material than spend time with her famous peers, reports the China Daily.

"I'm not a go-out-and-party girl. I'm actually taking every minute I have to myself to write music and be in the studio right now,” she said.

"I don't have much time to relax but I don't have much time for celebrities either, so I'm happy," she added.

Singer-actress Lindsay Lohan has a fetish for tattoos and recently got the sixth one -- a quote by Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe -- inked on her left wrist.

It reads "Everyone's a star and deserves the right to twinkle" and is surrounded by yellow, blue and green stars, dailymail.co.uk reported quoting a source.

'I really want to come to Kolkata…the city has been lucky for me,' Kats told Metro.

'I am pushing the producers-Yash Raj Films, to come to Kolkata. It' s also an important sector and I want to be there. I hope the producers tie up with some multiplexes and things work out,' said the actor, who will be sharing the screen with Jogn Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh in New York.

'Wolverine' bags Rupees 75 million in just a week in India?

Hugh Jackman starrer 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine', released Friday, has grossed around Rupees 75 million (1.5 million dollars) in its opening weekend in India.

Having already topped the US box office by raking in $160 million in its first weekend and with collections of almost $350 million worldwide so far, "Wolverine" broke the opening record for any Hollywood film in India.

Its collection surpasses hits like "Angels & Demons", "Fast & Furious", "The Dark Knight" and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull".

Distributed by 20th Century Fox, it released in two languages - English and Hindi and grossed more than Rs.20 million on its opening day.

"We've had a strong opening for 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' across the country. The audience reaction has been very positive which is helping build great word of mouth for the film as a must see," Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios India said in a statement released Monday.

Directed by Gavin Hood, it stars Liev Schreiber, Dominic Monaghan, Will. I. M. and Ryan Reynolds apart from Jackman in the lead.

Leading up to the events of the "X-Men" trilogy, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" tells the story of Jimmy Logan's (Jackman) genesis, his violent and romantic past and his complex relationship with his half-brother Victor Creed (Schreiber).

Logan's rivalry with Victor leads him to participate in the ominous half-billion dollar 'Weapon X' programme making him virtually indestructible, as an adamantium-clawed Wolverine.
