POPSTAR ROBBIE WILLIAMS TO GIVE SECRET MUSIC CONCERT IN BERLIN

Robbie Williams will continue his much-anticipated comeback with a secret concert in Berlin.

It will be a unique opportunity for fans to see their idol perform in the flesh, as he has developed too much stage fright.

The 35-year-old said: "I can’t imagine going on tour in the near future."
But he will make an exception on October 23 with the gig in the German capital at the Max Schmeling Halle.

News of the event may have leaked out, but the popstar's management today confirmed that entrance to the show will still be free.
Robbie will sing tracks from his new album 'Reality Killed The Video Star', which will be released on November 6.

He is expected to arrive in Berlin on Thursday in his private jet. Whether he will be staying in the Ritz Carlton at Potsdamer Platz as he did for his 2006 concert is not yet known.
During the singer’s last visit the hotel was practically declared a state of emergency for his six-day stay.

This time around Robbie will arrive not only with a new single, ‘Bodies’, but also with his new love, Turkish-American model and actress Ayda Field (30).
She was on stage on Tuesday for Robbie’s official comeback performance at the Roadhouse in London, which was the singers first concert appearance in three years.

Robbie Williams will also return to Berlin’s O2 World for the MTV Europe Music Awards on 5 November.

The sighting comes as a woman filed a complaint to the New York State Supreme Court about the pop star rehearsing too loudly while at her Manhattan apartment.

In the court filing, Karen George accuses Madge and her invited guests of "repeatedly dancing and/or training to unreasonable high decibel amplified music."

She is seeking reparations from the management company of the Manhattan building after they failed to act on previous complaints.

Dame Julie Andrews's revolutionary operation on vocal chords

Dame Julie Andrews could be back singing on stage within a year or two thanks to a revolutionary new treatment that could repair her shattered vocal chords.

The British star of The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins is expected to be one of the first patients in the world to have man-made tissue injected into her voice box.

The Oscar winner has been unable to sing ever since surgery to remove non-cancerous nodules on her vocal cords in 1997.

The operation ruined her soprano voice and she sued the New York surgeons, winning £600,000 in an out-of-court settlement.
But now Professor Robert Langer, a tissue engineer at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, along with voice specialist Dr Steven Zeitels believe they can give the star back her youthful voice.

They have developed a technique that involves removing scar tissue from the vocal cords and then injecting a gel called polyethylene glycol to replace it.
The man-made substance is specially designed to mimic the elasticity of the natural vocal chord without being rejected by the body.

The substance has already proved successful and safe in animals and is expected to be in the clinic within a year. Dame Julie has already expressed her desire to be a guinea pig for the new treatment.

"The substance is designed to vibrate and behave just like a vocal cord," said Professor Langer. "The animal trials have been very promising.

"Julie Andrews has been a great supporter. She came into our office and explained that she cannot hold a note because of scarring."

Professor Langer and Dr Zeitels have already made a 'map' of her throat while she was under anaesthetic.

The biggest challenge has been to find a suitable bio-material for the implants one pliable enough to oscillate and vibrate up to 200 times a second.

NICOLE KIDMAN: HOLLYWOOD PROBABLY CONTRIBUTES TO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

Nicole Kidman conceded Wednesday that Hollywood has probably contributed to violence against women by portraying them as weak sex objects.

The Oscar-winning actress said she is not interested in those kinds of demeaning roles, adding that the movie industry also has made an effort to contribute to solutions for ending the violence.

Kidman testified before a House Foreign Affairs subcommittee that is considering legislation to address violence against women overseas through humanitarian relief efforts and grants to local organizations working on the problem.

Asked by Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., if the movie industry has "played a bad role," Kidman said "probably," but quickly added that she herself doesn't.

"I can't be responsible for all of Hollywood but I can certainly be responsible for my own career," she said.

Kidman appeared before the committee in her role as a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. Development Fund for Women, known as UNIFEM, to promote the International Violence Against Women Act.

"In the real world, the laws go unenforced and impunity is the norm," she said.

The legislation has stalled in the past, but a sponsor, Rep. Bill Delahunt, D-Mass., said he and others plan to reintroduce it soon.

The Australian star told Congress that the U.N. women's fund needs more resources. "We need the money," she said.

Before the hearing began, a crowd of people lined the hall and around the corner to hear her speak.
