Ben Affleck: 'Lopez was bad for my career'

Hollywood actor Ben Affleck has spoken out about his high-profile relationship with former girlfriend Jennifer Lopez insisting it was bad for his movie career.

The actor began dating the singer-actress in 2002 after starring in "Gigli" with her, and the pair later became engaged before splitting up shortly before their scheduled wedding in 2004. Affleck now is adamant he should never have got involved in the first place because the publicity surrounding their romance tainted his career, reports contactmusic.com.

"I was no longer in control of my life. I thought I wanted certain things, but I didn't. I got lost. I felt suffocated, miserable and gross. I should never have gone down that route or got sucked in to all the publicity," he said.

"I was typecast as myself. Too many people weren't getting past what they read about me. That was damaging. I can tell from experience it's bad for you, and bad for your career. So I took a break, went away for a while and let things calm down," he added.

He admits he is much happier now with his wife Jennifer Garner and their two daughters, three-year-old Violet and six-month-old Seraphina.

"Work has taken a back seat. My job is not as important as it was. Saying that having a family changed my life is a cliche. But it's true - it re-arranged my life and made me see clearly," he said.

Paris Hilton in 'court'?

Socialite heiress Paris Hilton will take the stand in a Miami, Florida court Friday to testify against allegations that she failed to adequately promote her 2006 flop 'Pledge This!'

The occasional actress-singer is being sued for breach of contract by bosses at Worldwide Entertainment Group Inc., who claim she neglected to honour promotion and publicity agreements for the film, insisting she owes investors a massive $8.3 million, reports contactmusic.com.

The movie executives claim Hilton was paid $1 million for her acting services and for "reasonable promotion and publicity" for the film, which featured the her as the president of an exclusive sorority.

A judge rejected a motion by Hilton's legal team to dismiss the lawsuit in May and the trial began Thursday.

Angelina Jolie: New face of Emporio Armani's perfume

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has signed with top fashion house Emporio Armani to become the face of their new perfume.

The "Tomb Raider" star is said to be fronting the advertising campaign for the as-yet-unknown fragrance, reported femalefirst.co.uk.

"For this fragrance, they needed a true A-lister, and Angelina is the biggest, most dynamic female star in the world," said a source.

"She's giving a lot of input on that stuff (ad campaign) already, picking the photographers and directors. The campaign is going to be bold," the source added.

Other models for Armani are Soccer star David Beckham and his wife Victoria.

Former 'Baywatch' star Carmen Electra performance in a cage!

The 37-year-old actress has signed on to appear in 10 shows at MGM Grand's Crazy Horse Paris in Las Vegas July 8-13, reports aceshowbiz.com.

"It's very sexy but very classy. In my heart I'm a dancer. And maybe more than that, a performer," she said.

Electra will perform three routines - Lecon D'Erotisme, a lesson in eroticism, Chain Gang, in which she goes "animalistic" in a cage, and Etoile de Paris, an ensemble song.

Other actresses to have performed at the famous burlesque club are Pamela Anderson and Dita Von Teese.

Salman Khan joins Shah Rukh’s camp?

Bollywood dandy Salman Khan, who has been giving signals in his TV show to patch up with Shah Rukh Khan, couldn’t ignore the lure of the opposite camp. According to sources, the Yash Raj film is supposed to be a wacky action comedy that will go on floors later this year. Now, the actor is looking forward to do this project, which is being written and directed by Victor (Acharya). R Madhavan also plays an important role the film and the lead actress is yet to be chosen.

Earlier, Sallu was approached for ‘Chak De’ but he wanted a silly change in the script which was unacceptable to Aditya Chopra, so the film fell into SRK’s bag for all the right reasons.

Kate Winslet insists that she may not appear naked on-screen anymore because people have seen enough of her.
The Oscar-winning actress, who has appeared naked in a number of films including ‘The Reader’, feels that as the years go by, the pull to appear in the buff may ebb away.

"I`ll be 34 in October. I can`t keep getting away with it,” the Sun quoted her as telling Harpers Bazaar.

"There was so much of it in The Reader because the story required it, but people have seen enough of my bum and my boobs. I have to put them back," she added.

Known not just for her fabulous figure but also for her glamorous look, Winslet is quick to dismiss the world of Hollywood glitz.

"Our knickers will still go up our a** at the most inappropriate moment," she said.

"And we`ll still want to flick them out, but you can`t because someone is going to catch you," she added.

Saif-Kareena marriage?

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor might be mum about when they would like to get into matrimony as reports suggest both want to concentrate on their career, but Saif's mother Sharmila Tagore wants them to marry as soon as possible.
Say Sharmila, "Saif has not communicated to me anything on marrying Kareena but we (Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila) know that he is very serious about her. We are aware that they both need time before they decide to settle down and we are ready to give them that. Both have come out of their past relationships and we are waiting for them to tell us when they would like to get married. We know that both are very fond of each other and by God's grace their marriage should happen soon. I cannot tell you which year or month as that totally depends on them. As parents, we would like Saif and Kareena to settle down as soon as possible."

But has the Pataudi family spoken to Kareena's parents, particularly Babita, regarding Saif and Kareena's future? "I know Babita very well and our family and Kareena's family both know how serious they are about each other. Amrita Arora pregnant?
