Robbie Williams will continue his much-anticipated comeback with a secret concert in Berlin.

It will be a unique opportunity for fans to see their idol perform in the flesh, as he has developed too much stage fright.

The 35-year-old said: "I can’t imagine going on tour in the near future."
But he will make an exception on October 23 with the gig in the German capital at the Max Schmeling Halle.

News of the event may have leaked out, but the popstar's management today confirmed that entrance to the show will still be free.
Robbie will sing tracks from his new album 'Reality Killed The Video Star', which will be released on November 6.

He is expected to arrive in Berlin on Thursday in his private jet. Whether he will be staying in the Ritz Carlton at Potsdamer Platz as he did for his 2006 concert is not yet known.
During the singer’s last visit the hotel was practically declared a state of emergency for his six-day stay.

This time around Robbie will arrive not only with a new single, ‘Bodies’, but also with his new love, Turkish-American model and actress Ayda Field (30).
She was on stage on Tuesday for Robbie’s official comeback performance at the Roadhouse in London, which was the singers first concert appearance in three years.

Robbie Williams will also return to Berlin’s O2 World for the MTV Europe Music Awards on 5 November.

Dame Julie Andrews's revolutionary operation on vocal chords

Dame Julie Andrews could be back singing on stage within a year or two thanks to a revolutionary new treatment that could repair her shattered vocal chords.

The British star of The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins is expected to be one of the first patients in the world to have man-made tissue injected into her voice box.

The Oscar winner has been unable to sing ever since surgery to remove non-cancerous nodules on her vocal cords in 1997.

The operation ruined her soprano voice and she sued the New York surgeons, winning £600,000 in an out-of-court settlement.
But now Professor Robert Langer, a tissue engineer at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, along with voice specialist Dr Steven Zeitels believe they can give the star back her youthful voice.

They have developed a technique that involves removing scar tissue from the vocal cords and then injecting a gel called polyethylene glycol to replace it.
The man-made substance is specially designed to mimic the elasticity of the natural vocal chord without being rejected by the body.

The substance has already proved successful and safe in animals and is expected to be in the clinic within a year. Dame Julie has already expressed her desire to be a guinea pig for the new treatment.

"The substance is designed to vibrate and behave just like a vocal cord," said Professor Langer. "The animal trials have been very promising.

"Julie Andrews has been a great supporter. She came into our office and explained that she cannot hold a note because of scarring."

Professor Langer and Dr Zeitels have already made a 'map' of her throat while she was under anaesthetic.

The biggest challenge has been to find a suitable bio-material for the implants one pliable enough to oscillate and vibrate up to 200 times a second.

NICOLE KIDMAN: HOLLYWOOD PROBABLY CONTRIBUTES TO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

Nicole Kidman conceded Wednesday that Hollywood has probably contributed to violence against women by portraying them as weak sex objects.

The Oscar-winning actress said she is not interested in those kinds of demeaning roles, adding that the movie industry also has made an effort to contribute to solutions for ending the violence.

Kidman testified before a House Foreign Affairs subcommittee that is considering legislation to address violence against women overseas through humanitarian relief efforts and grants to local organizations working on the problem.

Asked by Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., if the movie industry has "played a bad role," Kidman said "probably," but quickly added that she herself doesn't.

"I can't be responsible for all of Hollywood but I can certainly be responsible for my own career," she said.

Kidman appeared before the committee in her role as a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. Development Fund for Women, known as UNIFEM, to promote the International Violence Against Women Act.

"In the real world, the laws go unenforced and impunity is the norm," she said.

The legislation has stalled in the past, but a sponsor, Rep. Bill Delahunt, D-Mass., said he and others plan to reintroduce it soon.

The Australian star told Congress that the U.N. women's fund needs more resources. "We need the money," she said.

Before the hearing began, a crowd of people lined the hall and around the corner to hear her speak.

ROMAN POLANSKI'S ARREST SET IN MOTION BY SWISS OFFICIALS

ROMAN POLANSKI's arrest in Switzerland last month was set in motion by Swiss authorities who tipped off U.S. officials about his trip.

The moviemaker, who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in the U.S. but fled to France in 1978 before he could be sentenced, has been behind bars since he was arrested as he travelled to a film festival in Zurich to pick up an award.

He is currently awaiting a decision on whether he will be extradited back to America to receive his punishment.

Polanski has appealed for bail twice but has been turned down both times.

Documents obtained by the Associated Press reveal officials at the Swiss Federal Office of Justice sent an urgent fax to the U.S. Office of International Affairs on 22 September (09) informing them the director was expected to travel to Zurich.

In the series of emails obtained under a public records request, Swiss authorities asked if American officials would be submitting a request for Polanski's arrest.

Following the tip-off, federal officials then alerted the Los Angeles District Attorney's office, who drafted an arrest warrant.

The filmmaker was detained on 26 September (09) when he arrived in the country to pick up his lifetime achievement prize.

METALLICA APPEAL FOR A MISSING FAN

METALLICA have appealed to the public for help finding a fan who has been missing since their concert in Virginia on Saturday.

Morgan Dana Harrington was attending the band's show at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville at the weekend when she became separated from her friends and disappeared.

The rockers are "deeply concerned" about the 20 year old - and have asked the public to help in the hunt for the Virginia Tech student.

A statement from the band reads, "Morgan has blonde hair and blue eyes, is 5'6", 120 lbs., and was wearing a black 'PANTERA' T-shirt, black skirt, and black boots. She was not carrying I.D. or a cell phone. Morgan was separated from her friends shortly before 9pm at the venue. Police have been searching the area since Monday.

"We encourage anyone who has any information regarding Morgan's disappearance to please come forward. Additionally, if you or anyone you know shot video footage or took photos of the concert or audience, please check to see if there is anyone in your photos who might resemble Morgan. Our thoughts are with Morgan and her family for her safe return."

Ranbir and Deepika on fighting spree!

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are having a tough time keeping their relationship intact. No no...there are no buzz of Ranbir getting disturbingly friendly with Katrina again or Deepika finding Yuvraj Singh approachable once more. Apparently, the lovebirds have suddenly turned into fighter cocks over a past one month. They have been quarrelling on every issue under the sun giving out signals of an impending split. Sigh! Why can't real love stories follow reel love fundas?
It is being said that such huge was their fight that Deepika had almost decided not to come to Karan Johar's show at the Indian Couture Week. As if anyone would have mind her absence...remember it was a Karan Johar promoting Shah Rukh-Gauri show! Anyway, she finally decided to give it a go and the two were seen together at the event. But they couldn't hide the cold vibes they were sharing. Pretence don't always help, guys!

Now let us tell you why these two so-much-in-love actors suddenly felt it was time they start clawing each other. Apparently, Neetu is not agreeable of Ranbir's choice of Deepika as his girl. But Kapoor managed to coax his mother into liking her. Meanwhile, Deeps started feeling insecure about Ranbir's commitment towards her. To worsen his state, Imran Khan went about getting engaged publicly to his long time girl friend Avantika Malik. Did we hear Ranbir cursing Imran? Well...we don't blame you Ranbir!

While everyone is sure that in no time Ranbir and Deeps would head different ways, one of the couple's friends assured vehemently that everything is well between the two. Fights do occur in every relationship. Hmm...let's see when we get to hear the news...good or bad!

Asin's Chemistry with Salman Khan in London Dreams!

Question: How did London Dreams happen?

Asin: I was still shooting for Ghajini but Vipul had seen some of my South Indian films. So I got a call from him and he said he had a role of a headstrong talented girl in his next directorial venture after Namastey London.

Obviously, I was excited at the sound of it. I love Vipul’s cinema, he showcases emotions really well and his films always have strong music.

So it was actually a no-brainer that I wanted to be a part of this project immediately on hearing its script. In a way, this is my first authentic Bollywood film even though Ghajini released first. That's because I had already played Kalpana in the south version of Ghajini before doing the Hindi remake with Aamir.

Question: Tell us the experience of working with Vipul Shah.

Asin: Fabulous. Vipul is very organised, he does his homework really well so when you reach the sets the shot break downs are done, he knows exactly how he wants the scene done and I am a complete director’s actor.

It’s important for me to understand my director’s vision and in that sense Vipul is very giving. I’ve been spoilt by him because now I think I will always want all shoots to be as planned.

Question: Tell us something about your character in London Dreams.

Asin: I play a south Indian girl, Priya, who is emotional but strong willed and ambitious at the same time. She has two radically different sides to her.

At home she’s a traditional girl clad in Indian outfits but the minute she’s out with friends, she’s a fire brand, and that shows in the way she dresses and she’s also partly responsible for the conflict between Salman and Ajay’s characters. So it was a wholesome character to play.

Question: This is the first time you’re working with big names like Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan. What was that like?

Asin: When I came on to the sets of London Dreams I didn’t know them. I knew they were way senior and was anxious just like any newcomer would understandably be and then I'd heard so much about them from different people. Salman has a ‘bad boy’ image. Many told me that he was very temperamental and erratic. Having worked with him I dispelled all those myths. I got to see a sensitive actor who had an absolute ball on the sets and went out of his way to make everyone comfortable.

Both Ajay and Salman are also great offscreen friends and that shows on celluloid. Ajay, contrary to popular belief, was not reticent at all. He was very helpful and friendly. I realised that you find out the truth about people only when you work with them and get to know them better.

Question: Tell us about the music of London Dreams.

Asin: Oh, there’s so much that I can say. London Dreams has a backdrop of a rock band so it’s only right that the music should be an arterial part of the film. And I think that Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy have done complete justice to the film in that sense.

The music is melodious but remains true to the essence of the film. It’s a very holistic album - there’s the masti (fun) of Punjab and the edge of contemporary music. I personally love Man Ko Ati Bhaave and Tapke Masti; they’re fun songs.

Question: Everyone is waiting for London Dreams with bated breath. Tell us why we should watch it?

Asin: It's an absolutely stunning looking commercial entertainer with emotions, humour, music and drama. It's a big one for the families. We had a blast shooting it in the UK and I took back some really fond memories with me. The fantastic time we had on the sets and the chemistry between all of us will show on screen.

Michael Jackson's Hit Charity Track To Raise More Money

MICHAEL JACKSON's hit track WE ARE THE WORLD is set to raise even more money for good causes - the release form signed by the superstar to give the single proceeds to charity is to go under the hammer at a benefit auction.

The piece of paper, which the superstar signed in 1985, donated all the royalties from the song to aid famine relief in Africa.

The track hit the number one slot in nearly twenty countries and raised $63 million (£42 million), and it is now set to do even more good when the release form is sold at an entertainment memorabilia auction benefiting the VH1 Save the Music Foundation.

The sale, which takes place on 21 and 22 October (09) in Connecticut, also features the leather jacket worn by the King of Pop in his 1988 video for Dirty Diana, as well as a set of handwritten lyrics.

Other items to feature in the sale include guitars owned by Elvis Presley and Jimi Hendrix, Prince's stage outfits and Johnny Cash's treasured carved walking stick.

MISCHA BARTON DECIDES TO QUIT TELEVISION?

Troubled actress Mischa Barton has decided to quit TV after the cancellation of her latest small-screen series "The Beautiful Life" because she wants to focus on "more serious roles".

The 23-year-old rose to fame starring in teen show "The O.C." and signed on to Ashton Kutcher's modelling drama "The Beautiful Life" earlier this year which was scrapped due to poor ratings after just two episodes.

Barton is now reconsidering her acting future and realises the small screen might not be for her, reports people.com.

"I think I need to back away from the whole TV approach. That whole world of network television, probably isn't, for me, a good idea now. I need to start reading for more serious roles," she said.

Barton insists she will take her time to decide her next project.

"It's too early to tell yet. I'm passing on all the (early) offers, because that's not the stuff you want to do. I want to go fight for interesting things and look for something that's going to be interesting for me... as a role," she said.

"(I'm) reading scripts and enjoying living in New York. Now that I'm not doing the TV show, I've got lots of time to work out," she added.

Priyanka Chopra Back With Ex-Boyfriend Harman Baweja!

After a gap of almost a year, Priyanka Chopra was spotted at ex-boyfriend Harman Baweja’s house on Thursday night. Like every year, the Bawejas had their Diwali party get-together and Priyanka was on their guest list.

The two were last seen in the massive disaster 'Love Story 2050,' after which rumors began flying that Priyanka Chopra dumped her man because of the failure of the film. But alas they denied all the rumors and were seen out together again.

A source says, “Harry and Pammi Baweja have their annual Diwali celebration, which goes on till the wee hours of the morning. It also has some B-town celebs attending the party. This year it was a shock to see Priyanka at the party. After her break-up with Harman, she had completely disappeared from Harman’s life. She even cut-off ties with his parents by not visiting his house. However, she was in touch with Harman’s sister Rowena, on and off.”

It was Harman’s parents who invited Priyanka to the party. The source adds, “Although the invitation was given by Harman, it was his parents’ call which got Priyanka to his house. The actress walked in post-midnight and stayed at the party for a few hours.”

It was during the promos of What’s Your Raashee? that Priyanka and Harman upgraded to talking terms. The source adds, “Priyanka was like a family member when she was dating Harman. After their relationship went kaput, she never visited his house. Her attendance at Harman’s Diwali party sends out a lot of messages to people.”

But the question is that if Harman Baweja is back in Priyanka’s life, then where does that leave Shahid Kapoor, whom Priyanka is supposed to be dating?

SHAKIRA SUPPORTS ILLEGAL MUSIC DOWNLOADERS

SHAKIRA has waded into an ongoing U.K. debate over illegal downloads - insisting the controversial practice brings her 'closer to her fans'.

Lily Allen spearheaded a campaign last month (Sep09) to stop illicit file-sharing and called on the British government to help beat illegal downloaders, who she fears will destroy the music industry.

Sir Elton John, Annie Lennox and George Michael backed her protest - but the Whenever, Wherever hitmaker, who has sold millions of records worldwide, is sympathetic to illegal downloaders.

Shakira tells Sky News, 'I like what's going on because I feel closer to the fans and the people who appreciate the music. It's the democratisation of music in a way, and music is a gift. That's what it should be, a gift.'

Allen is adamant the practice means artists just starting out in the music business will struggle - but singer Nelly Furtado has also joined the debate, insisting losing sales is irrelevant to success.

She adds, 'If you love music you're going to make it anyway. You'll find an audience, and you may not make like millions of dollars but you'll make enough to have a house and a family and a car.'
