Supermodel Inspired to Join the Battle Against Breast Cancer

The beautiful Naomi Campbell’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months ago. Though Campbell’s mother is now, thankfully, in remission, the supermodel’s close proximity to the awful disease has inspired her to open a cancer research unit in a hospital in London. “Up until that point I hadn't got checked on a regular basis like you should. I heard about breast cancer but I just thought it's never going to happen to me. But now I've learnt it doesn't discriminate, this disease, it can happen to anybody. As someone who's seen breast cancer first hand I know it can be a devastating disease."

Campbell will be funding the £4.2 million research unit through London’s Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity, one of the top breast cancer charities in the world.
