"A singer that can equal Lata didi has not been born yet. She is only one such piece created by god. There will never be someone like her ever - has not been in the past, will never be in the future," Asha said in her tribute that appeared in Saamna on Friday. She said she is indeed privileged to have been born as Lata's sister. "What good wishes do I give her on her birthday? I will only say that she is Goddess Saraswati herself. I will touch my head to her feet and bow down to her, seek her blessings and will pray for her long life," said Asha. Lata being four years elder to Asha, she said that her elder sister always took care of her after their father passed away. "She managed the home and took care of us despite several problems. It was very difficult for her. She then started as a playback singer for Bollywood films. And, honestly, god gave her the place she deserved : right on top." Asha said that Lata's songs still create an atmosphere of romance whenever one hears them. "This divine voice was bestowed to my sister. There is no luck bigger than being born in the Mangeshkar family and as a sister to her. Didi is my mother. I bow down to her once again and wish her a long life," Asha said. On the other hand, Lata said she has no plans to retire and will continue to sing the way she has been singing all these years. "As of now, retirement is out of question," she said.
Rani Mukerji Says I am not married to Aditya Chopra Mumbai: Even as people on the sets of YRF address Rani Mukerji as bhabhi', the actress ended all speculation about her secret marriage to Yash Chopra's son Aditya Chopra while talking to a leading entertainment newspaper recently. Clearing airs about Adi and her marriage, Rani said, "I don't know what people call me behind my back. People may b***h or praise me, but unless it's to my face, I cannot comment on it. And on record, I say this: I am not married." Slamming all reports about her marriage, Rani said, "That is an irresponsible rumour. I am a girl from a respectable family that would take pride in their daughter's marriage. They don't need to lie. I have been brought up with lots of love and respect and such rumours affect my family." Expressing her thoughts about marriage, the lady said, "Marriage is a sacred thing. When I decide to get married, I'll do it in a respectful manner and not in a covert way. Anything that is hidden or has a clandestine approach to it is an affair, not a marriage. You can't hide a marriage. When I tie the knot, I'll tell the world."
Kareena Kapoor to embrace motherhood soon Mumbai: Kareena Kapoor, who is all set to tie the knot with beau Saif Ali Khan next month, has actively been on the radar of rumours for a long time now. After putting to rest the speculations regarding her marriage, the Kapoor girl has now given rise to some fresh buzz : and this time, it is regarding her pregnancy. Kareena Kapoor's refusal to sign on the no pregnancy' clause on the papers of Ram Leela' has made many minds work out the purpose behind it. And according to the grapevine, the most logical' conclusion seems to have been settled upon. The latter is that perhaps Kareena is planning pregnancy soon after her wedding with Saif. This is the second time Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Kareena have been at loggerheads with each other over Ram Leela'. The earlier issue was that of Kareena's marital status : Bhansali did not want to cast a married actress in his film. And now, the no pregnancy' clause is the bone of contention between the actress and the filmmaker. "The latest clause in the contracts of leading ladies (married, engaged or those in live-in relationships) specifies that the actress agree to not get pregnant during the time of the principal photography because filmmakers do not wish to sit on the set, minding the baby (pun intended) while their shooting is in progress. A reliable source tells us that Sanjay Leela Bhansali, like all practical filmmakers, reportedly wanted Kareena Kapoor to sign a contract with a clause that said she will not get pregnant during the making of Ram Leela," revealed a source to a website. Seems like whether or not Kareena is keen on an early pregnancy will be known only when she's married!
