In an Asian country, many have thought another Asian beauty will win this years “Miss Universe”, but as it turns out, the glory is back to Venezuela.
Newly crowned “Miss Universe 2008″ Diana Mendoza is now officially the 5th Venezuelan to win the crown after Alicia Machado took the crown way back in 1996.
As others may have stated it, this years competition was indeed one of the best and closely contested competitions in the history of the “Miss Universe” pageant as Colombia’s Taliana Vargas (1st Runner Up), and Dominican Republic’s Marianne Cruz (2nd Runner Up) were probable contenders of the crown until the final decision was made.

Now this 22 year old beautiful, smart and sexy Venezuelan beauty, who happens to look a bit like Beyonce at times by the way, will be the bearer of the crown and the opportunity to serve as this years ambassador of beauty and goodness to mankind.
A well deserved win.
