Aditi Rao Hydari's father succumbs to lung cancer The Murder 3 actor shared the sad news with her fans this morning� Recently, Aditi Rao Hydari revealed that her relationship with her father Akbar Hydari was more or less strained. "My father was just angry at the fact that my mother had the courage to leave him and look after me and succeed," she had said in an interview. Her parents had separated when she was two years old. But Aditi's father was diagnosed with lung cancer some time ago. The actor was since then struggling to juggle her professional commitments while being by her father's side. Salman Khan comes to injured Sonu Sood's aid Normally we see producers worrying about schedules and budgets going haywire when the main lead suffers a major injury, however, it is different in actor Sonu Sood's case. Sonu, who suffered multiple fractures in his right leg earlier this week while playing for Celebrity Cricket League, is believed to have expressed more concern for his filmmakers. However, it is learnt that his friends suggested that he focus on recovering first and then think about his producers. But Sonu being his true genuine self, called up the producers he was committed to, as soon he got out of the operation theatre, and offered to return their signing amounts because he didn't want any filmmaker to suffer or wait for him for six weeks. It is learnt that while the producers of the Zanjeer remake told him to get well soon, Prabhudheva told Sonu that he had changed the schedule of his movie to facilitate shooting with him after his recovery. Day into Match Play semis after impressive wins Australia's Jason Day powered past Masters champion Bubba Watson and Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell to secure a berth in the WGC Match Play Championship semi-finals. Day will meet Matt Kuchar in the final four after beating McDowell 1-up in a closely contested quarter-final. Earlier on Saturday, Day beat Watson 4 and 3 to reach the quarter-final. Defending champion Hunter Mahan will meet 2010 winner Ian Poulter in the other semi-final. Poulter will be a little fresher, having gone 4-up on Steve Stricker after 12 holes before wrapping up his win by sinking a 10-foot par putt at the short 16th. The flamboyant Englishman, who is renowned for his match-play grit and superb putting, went ahead for the first time at the par-three third where he sank a double-breaking 40-footer for birdie while Stricker missed his attempt from seven feet. American Mahan made it through to the semis after triumphing 1-up in a tight match with US Open winner Webb Simpson. 
Brumbies sign George Smith ACT Brumbies coach Jake White has hailed the signing of former Wallaby George Smith after securing the flanker on a short-term deal. Smith's Japanese club Suntory Sungoliath has allowed him to take up a 12-week stint with the Canberra side following a season-ending injury to Brumbies back rower Ita Vaea. Smith will start training with the Canberra-based side next week and could be considered for selection for the home game against the NSW Waratahs on March 9. "It's exciting news for the club that we have been able to bring George back to Canberra," Brumbies coach Jake White said in a statement on the team's website. "He's achieved a great deal in the game and was an important part of the team for many years, so naturally everyone at the Brumbies will be pleased to have him back. "George's record and ability to win games is outstanding. "The guy has won Super Rugby championships, he's won big games for the Wallabies and he's played in a rugby World Cup final so I want him to bring that winning culture back here to the Brumbies." Smith has played 110 Tests for the Wallabies and last played for the Brumbies in 2010. He played a season in France with Toulon before moving to Japan last year. Franklin escapes punishment Hawthorn star Lance Franklin has escaped punishment for his high contact in Saturday's AFL preseason cup match against Gold Coast. Franklin caught Suns youngster Matt Shaw across the neck and shoulder as they contested the ball, conceding a free kick. The match review panel ruled on Monday that Shaw had cut across Franklin's path to intercept the ball. "The panel said that Franklin had his hand open in a bid to gather the ball when contact was made and it was their view the action was not a striking action," the league said in a statement. The panel also cleared Gold Coast player Andrew Boston for high contact he made on Brisbane's Claye Beams. Carlton's Levi Casboult will face no charge for his collision with GWS player Matt Buntine after the panel ruled it was accidental. 
Kuchar wins World Match Play American Matt Kuchar won the World Golf Championships Match Play event with a 2 and 1 win over defending champion and countryman Hunter Mahan. Kuchar took down Australian Jason Day 4 and 3 in the morning semi-final before backing it up with an impressive win over Mahan in the championship final. It was the first WGC title for the affable 34-year-old and fifth US PGA Tour win, netting him a cool $US1.5 million ($A1.45 million) and moving him to eighth in the world rankings. Day managed to beat Englishman Ian Poulter in the consolation final 1-up to take third place, allowing him to move to 35th in the new global rankings. In cold and windy conditions on the Dove Mountain course, the American pair halved the opening three holes in the championship match before Kuchar won four of the next five to race to a 4-up lead through eight holes. Mahan started to fashion a comeback with wins on the 10th and 11th holes but stalled with a loss on 13 before getting back to just 2-down with a birdie win on 14. When Kuchar bogeyed the 16th, Mahan was back in the contest, just one down with two to play but, after a terrible lie in the fairway bunker on the second-last hole, he hacked his approach into a waste area. Unable to advance the ball very far, Mahan then couldn't hole out from distance, conceding the hole and the match to his countryman. Day was 2-down to Poulter through six holes but won the seventh, eighth and ninth to gain a 1-up lead. He won the 12th with a par to double his advantage and went 3-up when Poulter bogeyed the 14th but the Australian struggled to close out the match. Day bogeyed the 16th and 17th holes to keep the Englishman alive and needed to make a nine-foot par on the last to close the deal. "I won three holes straight, and we were kind of laughing and giggling out there for the first nine and, once we turned the corner on 10, everything got real serious," Day said. "He obviously made a couple of good clutch pars on 16 and 17." Day was disappointed to bow out in the semis but optimistic about the week in its entirety where he beat three major champions and an impressive rookie. "I just wasn't quite sharp, not as sharp as yesterday this morning. I just came out this morning a little flat and made a lot of mental errors out there and just pretty much gave the game to Kuch so I am a little disappointed," Day said. "But I think the whole week in itself is a positive week for me. "I played good golf against great golfers."

Rising England star on drugs when hit by train One of English cricket�s rising stars died after being electrocuted on a railway line and then struck by a train as he attempted to flee police while drunk and on drugs, a coroner's inquest was told Tuesday. Surrey batsman Tom Maynard, widely regarded as a future England international, was found dead near Wimbledon Park station on the London Underground network in the early morning on June 18 last year. The 23-year-old son of former England batsman Matthew Maynard was electrocuted after stepping on a live track before he was hit by a train, causing him to die from multiple injuries, Westminster Coroner's Court in central London heard. Maynard had earlier been stopped by police nearby after his black Mercedes was seen driving erratically, but he then fled the vehicle and left his keys in the ignition. A post-mortem examination revealed alcohol levels in his body four times above the legal limit for drivers and that he had taken cocaine and ecstasy in the form of MDMA after a night out with his two flatmates. Tests on hair samples indicated Maynard may have been a regular drug user for as long as three-and-a-half months before his death, the inquest heard. Forensic pathologist Simon Poole told the inquest that it was impossible to say whether electrocution or the impact of the train had killed Maynard. Cardiff-born Maynard, who came through the ranks at Glamorgan, where his father had been a key player and later a coach, was a member of the second-string England Lions squad that toured Bangladesh and Sri Lanka last year. A formal verdict on his death has yet to be given. In a statement issued Tuesday via the Professional Cricketers' Association, the Maynard family urged that Tom's life not be defined by the evidence heard at the inquest. "The results of the inquest do not define our son," the statement said, adding: "The fact that so very many people thought the world of him is what defines him as a person. "The only people who would judge Tom on the findings of the inquest are people who didn't know him. "He made choices that night that tragically cost him his life but his devastated family and friends will love and miss him unconditionally, always. Stewart's contract approved by NRL The Manly Sea Eagles have received a boost ahead of next week's opening round of the NRL season with confirmation star full-back Brett Stewart's contract has been approved by the game's auditors. Manly faced the possibility of having to cut players to accommodate Stewart who is reported to be on a salary of more than $500,000 in 2013. NRL salary cap auditor Ian Schubert met with Manly officials late last week and the club confirmed on Thursday Stewart's contract has now been approved. The New South Wales Origin full-back is expected to take his place in the Manly side to play the Broncos in Brisbane next Friday night. Manly general manager David Perry said no players have had to be cut from the Sea Eagles squad. "The club has been working closely with the NRL for some time and have had to comply, like every other NRL club, to get to this point," Perry said. "I understand there has been a degree of frustration in relation to the issue but this process takes time and is complicated for all involved. "This is the first time that the Sea Eagles have faced such an issue, however it is not unprecedented with other clubs over the years. "We can now look forward to getting on with a big year of football and a promising season for the game." 
Wallabies out of Super duty before Lions Wallabies players will be quarantined for three weeks leading into the British and Irish Lions series in a protective move which has defied Australia's Super Rugby franchises and could open another can of worms. Queensland, New South Wales and the Brumbies have been forced to fall into line behind Wallabies coach Robbie Deans after the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) on Thursday ruled 25 Test players would participate in an extended camp. The controversial move was expected despite all five Australian franchises opposing Deans' wishes at a high-performance meeting late last year. The Reds, Brumbies and Waratahs : set to have the highest representation of Wallabies : were most outspoken as the three-week camp will rob them of their star players for matches on June 7, 8 and 9. While Queensland plays the Lions in a potential blockbuster at Lang Park, the Brumbies take on the Rebels and New South Wales plays the Western Force in penultimate-round local derbies which could be crucial to their Super Rugby play-off hopes. But new ARU chief executive Bill Pulver has attempted to appease the Waratahs and Brumbies by saying Wallabies could be released if their finals hopes are on the line. "If those Super Rugby matches have significant bearing on the competition standings, and finals spots are at stake, the ARU will take that under serious consideration," Pulver said in a statement. If that did occur, and the Rebels and Force were not boosted by the release of their top Wallabies, then rival teams across the competition would be rightly aggrieved by what would be seen as a significant leg-up. Brumbies coach Jake White would also want all his best players for the entire week, after stressing the late return of Wallabies one or two days pre-game was not good enough. Waratahs counterpart Michael Cheika has also warned an extended camp would leave Wallabies players short of match fitness for the June 22 first Test against a finely-tuned top Lions outfit which would play three games in the same time. The All Blacks (2005) and Springboks (2009) also rested their Test players leading into tour matches but they did not take them out of Super Rugby fixtures. When the Wallabies beat the Lions 2-1 in 2001, players were barred from representing the Waratahs and Brumbies but were released to play for the Reds a fortnight before the first Test. "There is no doubt, from an Australian Rugby perspective, that when the Lions come to Australia � the primary objective is for the Wallabies to win the three-Test series and preparation is crucial," Pulver said. 
Tuqiri suffers another NRL injury setback Lote Tuqiri's wretched run with injuries has continued with the Wests Tigers winger set to miss the first four months of the NRL season due to an arm injury. Tuqiri underwent surgery on Tuesday after scans showed the broken arm he suffered in July last year had failed to heal. A devastated Tuqiri said he was determined to return to the field despite the setback. "I was really looking forward to helping the club have the success that everyone is after this year," Tuqiri said in a statement released by the club on Thursday. "I have to accept the reality. I will work hard on my rehab and hope to make a contribution later in the year." On Tuesday, Tuqiri underwent bone grafts and had two plates inserted into the arm. The 33-year-old has been dogged by injuries since returning to the NRL from rugby union in 2010. The broken left upper arm brought Tuqiri's 2012 season to a premature end and, the year before, he suffered a broken wrist. The latest setback has put Tuqiri's future under a cloud. He is signed to a one-year contract at the Tigers. New coach Mick Potter vowed the club would do everything it could to get Tuqiri back on the field. "Lote has worked hard in preseason training. He was doing all the fitness work but hasn't been able to get a clearance from the surgeon to do any contact work," Potter said. "We will do everything we can to support his rehabilitation and our main priority is to ensure that he fully recovers." 
Ne-Yo's tough vegan diet Ne-Yo admits turning vegan is one of the hardest things he's ever had to do. The �Because of You' hitmaker decided to give up meat and any animal-based products for at least 30 days, and while he is feeling the benefits, he says it's been a very tough time. He said: �I've gone vegan. There are more difficult things, but this is definitely a test of discipline. I just wanted to see if I could. It's one of the most challenging diets and ways of life there is out there. No meat, nothing derived from animals. I can't even eat honey as it comes from bees. �I haven't killed anybody yet! I told myself I'd do, at the very least, 30 days. As far as energy levels and all of that, there's a very obvious change. On the other hand, there's been other days when I could kill someone for a hamburger.' Bobby Brown sentenced to prison Bobby Brown has been sentenced to 55 days in prison. The 44-year-old singer pleaded no contest to driving under the influence (DUI) and to driving on a suspended licence, following his arrest last October, and will now spend almost two months behind bars. The second charge relates to him being arrested last March after he failed a sobriety test. For the DUI charge, Bobby was placed on 48 months of summary probation, ordered to pay a $500 fine plus penalty assessment, complete an 18-month alcohol programme and comply with standard DUI conditions. On the second count, he was placed on 36 months of summary probation, ordered to pay a $300 fine plus penalty assessment and install an ignition interlock device : an alcohol breathalyser that prohibits the driver from starting the car if they are above the limit. He will also have to go to three Alcoholic Anonymous sessions a week. According to Youthgossip.com , Bobby : who was not present in the Los Angeles courtroom yesterday (26.02.13) and was instead represented by his attorney Tiffany Feder : will report to jail on March 20. Last year, as part of his release deal with his first DUI arrest, Bobby agreed to enter rehab. However, in August he checked out early because he didn't think he needed anymore help.

The �Promise This' hitmaker showed off a new inking, two large red roses on her lower back, when she took to the stage for Girls Aloud�s 10th anniversary tour last week and though the lavish design has been mocked, she hasn't finished the artwork yet. Her tattoo artist, Nikko Hurtado, tweeted her to say: �thanks for the mention in your interview about your tattoo. Your the best lady.(sic)' Cheryl responded, saying: �of course!! You are unbelievably talented. Looking forward to having your work finished, see you soon (sic)' It seems Cheryl has had a change of heart as she said shortly after unveiling the artwork for the first time she was �done' with tattoos now. She said: �I actually got it five months ago � but it's somewhere on my body you wouldn't expect people to see it very often. �It was done by this amazing artist called Nikko Hurtado who basically travels round the world going to conventions.' �It was really painful but I think I'm done with tattoos now. Beyonce's carnival demands Beyonce reportedly demanded £50,000 to attend a British summer carnival. The 'Halo' singer was invited to the annual Maldon Carnival Association in Essex, South East England, and organisers were thrilled when she took up their offer, as other stars, such as Britney Spears, Rod Stewart and Queen Elizabeth, hadn't got back to them. Her spokesman in New York emailed committee boss Rob Slight saying: 'There is a possibility Beyonce will be available.' However, it later emerged the 'Crazy in Love' hitmaker was demanding a huge fee just to attend, something the carnival could not afford. Her spokesman said: 'It is apparent there is some miscommunication. Beyonce will require an appearance fee.' An annoyed Robsaid: 'We had wanted this year to be the best yet.' But Beyonce will be in Essex over the summer as it was recently announced she will headline this year's Virgin Media V Festival. The mother-of-one will make her only European festival appearance while Kings of Leon will also top the bill at the annual event, which takes place in both Hylands Park, Chelmsford, and Weston Park, Staffordshire across the weekend of August 17 and 18.
