Fashionandyou.com, in association with apparel brand Marie Claire, has started Dastkar Auction that aims to support to hundreds of faceless people behind every designer garment.
A combined effort of Dastakar craftsperson and designers each of the outfits display Indian craft at its best-from Ahir and Kantha embroidery to Madhubani and Bhagalpuri tussar weaves.
Dastkar is a society for crafts and craftspeople which is a registered society that aims at improving the economic status of craftspeople, thereby promoting the survival of traditional crafts. It was founded in 1981 by six women, who had worked in the craft and development sector.
