“The Money and the Power”
On November 11, Trump told New York television station NY1 that 50 Cent’s project was a “copy” of his own reality show.
“Donald Trump talking about my show and how it’s a knockoff of ‘The Apprentice’? He’s crazy!” 50 said on the final episode of “Total Request Live” on MTV on Sunday, blaming the blustering businessman’s age for his comments.
“That’s what happens when you get older — you start to view things differently,” 50 said.
“He just did a show, it was a copy of ‘The Apprentice,’” Trump said. “It will fail because he’s not Trump.”
But The Donald also had kinder words for 50, calling him “a nice guy.”
“I know [rappers]. 50 Cent is sort of a friend of mine,” he added.
But on Sunday, having had his say about Trump, 50 went on to his next rival — Kanye West, whose upcoming album, “808s & Heartbreak,” gives up rapping in favor of Autotuned vocals.
“I don’t think the public will forgive [Kanye] for it,” he said.
But he admitted there was a certain place for it.
“I think people will enjoy it if you’re actually in love or going through something. I think Kanye’s going through an interesting point in his career,” 50 said of Kanye’s November 24-due album.
As for 50 fans, they can see “Money” – which follows competing aspiring rap moguls — on MTV now on Thursday nights.
