Rani Mukerji Says Nothing new happening in films today Mumbai: Actress Rani Mukerji feels nothing new is happening in the films today and it is all about revisiting the past. "Our industry comes from an era where Shammi Kapoorji, Raj Kapoorji and all of them were icons in terms of looks. I don`t think anything new is happening today. It is all about revisiting of what happened in the past," Rani told reporters. "Even this whole thing about trying to say that women oriented films have taken over today, I think it is a myth. What about films like `Bandini`, `Sujata` and `Mother India`, it has all been happening. It is just that those things are coming back," the actress said . "So I don`t feel that there is anything unique happening, but yes in terms of audience changes have taken place," she said. Rani is happy that today the audience have changed, who are ready to accept `good` films. "The youth todayThe kind of films that are being accepted is because they are the ones who go and see it. Today they are ready to accept a different genre," she said. "Today people are reacting to different genre of films, reacting to good films regardless of what they are," she added. Rani`s last film was `No One Killed Jessica` in January 2011 and now `Aiyyaa` releases this Friday. "Everybody goes through a phase in their career where they decide that every film that is offered to you, you can`t do it. You have to choose; especially I like to choose the best out of the lot," she said. "There are certain criteria on which I choose a film. I don`t categorise films as women or men-centric or author backed roles. I don`t choose films with some agenda. If I like the script I will accept it. The film should be something that the audiences like as I don`t want to disappoint them," she added. Produced jointly by Anurag Kashyap and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, `Aiyyaa` marks the Bollywood debut of Marathi director Sachin Kundalkar. South actor Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the lead opposite Rani. The song `Dreamum Wakeupm` and the promos of `Aiyyaa` give a feel of south Indian touch. "All this was very easy. As an actor there should be nothing that should be difficult for me. It is my job to act and I have to be really good at it. There should be nothing that should be awkward for me to do the film," Rani said. "In this film, there is a beautiful love story between a Maharashtrian girl and a south Indian man. The song `Dreamum Wakeupm` is a tribute to all the south Indian songs and dances that we all have been fans of, because they are high on energy and are mind pulsating," she said. Priyanka Chopra, Kajol's airport style: Casual-funky and comfort-chic The two babes were seen leaving town recently. And we loved the way they had put their ensembles together to get the perfect disembark-from-the-plane look While PC opted for a metallic cuff to complete her rockstar appearance that comprised a denim shirt with a stylish sleeveless jacket, Kajol was seen swaggering around in a virgin white turtleneck and a striped stole, which we think is a very unusual combination. PC was the ultimate boho gal and Kajol was the la-di-da diva. But if you think that the only thing we are going to do is rave about these stars, then you are highly mistaken. We will also tell you how to assemble a cool airport look, just the way PC and Kajol have PC - You don't really have to trudge from pillar to post to look like Ms Chopra. All you need is a pair of skinny black jeans, a full-sleeved denim shirt and a quilted jacket. You can always replace the quilted design with a rugged leather look blouson. And if you want to make certain modifications for a no-frills look, you can chuck the jacket and instead get a much cooler style by keeping the first two or three buttons of your shirt undone. Canvas shoes can be a substitute for heels if you are a sucker for comfort. Kajol - If you want to very strategically hide your paunch, then following in Kajol's foot steps is the best thing to do. The whole turtleneck and stole combo has won our difficult-to-please hearts. So if you have slight cellulite in your tummy area, instead of making yourself happy with self-reinforcing statements like I look great despite being fat', just get yourself a stylish monochrome high-necked top and team it with a vibrant stole, pronto! Aamir Khan's Talaash not inspired from Aarushi murder case! The film's producer clears the latest gossip surrounding the Aamir Khan-Rani Mukerji-Kareena Kapoor starrer It looks like news, good or bad, is constantly lurking in the shadows for Excel Entertainment's latest flick. A few days ago, the latest rumour that caught wind was that the murder mystery shown in Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor starrer Talaash is inspired from the much-publicised Aarushi murder case. Reports said that the makers of the psychological thriller had gone through the legal proceedings of the infamous criminal act to replicate it in the film. However producer Ritesh Sidhwani quickly denied the story. In an interview he clarified, "We, at Excel Entertainment, are disturbed by irresponsible media reports saying that we had pursued the details of the Aarushi murder investigation to aid the making of our film. Our film is a work of fiction that bears no resemblance to the Aarushi case. We do not believe in exploiting other people's tragedies. The story was misguided and in very bad taste. We urge everyone to ignore it." Let's hope this puts an end to one of the million rumours surrounding Reema Kagti's eagerly-awaited thriller. Sunny Leone to host South Asian Rising Star Film Awards in New York The Jism 2 babe is all set to rock the awards ceremony on October 23 with her exceptional' talent We wonder what it is about Sunny Leone that makes her the perfect person to host the first ever South Asian Rising Star Film Awards to be held in New York on October 23. The hot star-turned-Bollywood sensation doesn't quite have the gift of the gab, not that we know of, at least. After all, we have seen enough of Sunny in the reality show Bigg Boss last year, when she was present in the house as a contestant. Sunny was not particularly good at vocalising her feelings. Neither did she know how to play with words. Even our Rakhi Sawant could give the Canadian import a run for her well-earned dollars with her infamous blabber. Why then has the Jism 2 actor been roped in? She will be flown to New York to host an entire awards function with Jay Chandrasekhar, Indian-American director of slapstick comedies such as Super Troopers, The Dukes of Hazzard and Beerfest. We hear that the event will be followed by the ninth edition of the South Asian International Film Festival (SAIFF), to be held October 24-30. Many Bollywood films are in the race to win the main prize in this one. Anurag Kashyap's Gangs Of Wasseypur has bagged the highest number of nominations. Shoojit Sircar's Vicky Donor and Abhinay Deo's Delhi Belly are also in the race. Bangalore based band Swarathma, which is very popular for its fine music, has been nominated in the Best Composer category for work in indie filmmaker Srinivasan Sunderrajan's Greater Elephant. Sneha Khanwalkar (Gangs of Wasseypur), Ram Sampath (Delhi Belly) and Amit Trivedi (Trishna) have also been listed in the prestigious nominations for their commendable music compositions. But the ..err..star-attraction of the show will undoubtedly be Sunny Leone! The seductress will steal all the thunder with her unique assets, for sure. By that we mean her sparkling presence, of course : what did you think! Right, Sunny? HOT MODELS BIKINI PHOTO SHOOT PICTURESLatest News Will Shahrukh Khan and Jackie Shroff come together in Farah Khan's Happy New Year - Bollywood News - FamousCelebrityPicture.com
Will Shahrukh Khan and Jackie Shroff come together in Farah Khan's Happy New Year? It was King Khan meets King Uncle on the set of Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express at Mehboob studios and some hush-hush discussion happened. Hmmm was it about the two doing Farah Khan's Happy New Year? Apna bhidu gave us a hint. The shoot of Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express starring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone was in full swing at Mehboob studios by the end of last month and we hear that Rohit wants to complete the film as quickly as possible. It was on a very busy day when apna Jaggu dada landed at the studio, greeted SRK and hurried into the superstar's van with him. They worked together for the first time in Rakesh Roshan's King Uncle almost two decades ago, andJackie Shroff and Shahrukh Khan were also seen in Subhash Ghai's Trimurti, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas. When we asked Jackie whether his meeting with SRK had anything to do with Farah Khan's Happy New Year, he didn't disagree, but gave us some exclusive information. "Yes, Farah has spoken to me about some film. I'm in Chandigarh right now. We'll sit for the story narration once I'm back in town." The generous actor who took some time off from his hectic shooting schedule to chat also said, "I'll hear the script and take a call. I don't know what is the genre and anything about the film, but I genuinely hope the script will be interesting enough, considering it's Farah Khan. Farah ko kaun na bolega, bhidu? I'm also looking forward to it because it will give me an opportunity to work with Shahrukh, whom I've always considered to be my younger brother. We bond very well." We understand that for Jackie it's too early to comment on the project, but if the sources close to Farah Khan are to be believed, there's a strong indication that Jackie will star in HNY. Remember, we were the first to reveal Farah's ambitious film plot : basically about a bunch of male friends forced to participate in a world dance championship. How could we not connect that with Jackie laughing, "Farah wants me to do some naach gaana in her film. I wish her all the best, considering I know how good a dancer I am!" As of now we know that SRK, John Abraham, Boman Irani and Abhishek Bachchan are supposed to play the four buddies. Will Jackie join the club? Only time will tell, but one thing we know is that Farah's film will be a laugh riot, intentionally or not, since none of the actors are exactly famous for their dancing skills onscreen.
