Jennie Garth won't date Luke Perry

Jennie Garth insists she would never date her former co-star Luke Perry.

The ex 'Beverly Hills 90210′ star : who announced in March that she and her 'Twilight Saga' star husband Peter Facinelli were splitting after 11 years of marriage : says that although she 'loves' 47-year-old Luke, who played her love interest on TV for 10 years, and admits they have 'always had great chemistry', she thinks it would be 'weird' to take their relationship to the next level.

The 40-year-old actress told Youthgossip.com: 'We're just really close friends. I love him so much, dating him might be weird!'

But the duo are hoping to pair up on-screen again in the near future, according to the actress.

She said: 'It's probably not going to be a sitcom, but we're in the creative process right now, and I'm very excited about it. We're going to start having our creative meetings with writers and producers in the New Year.'

The mother-of-three : who shares daughters Luca, 15, Lola, 10, and Fiona, six, with Peter : recently admitted it was initially difficult to see him with his new girlfriend Jaimie Alexander.

She said: 'I think there will come a time when it won't sting so bad. But I'm not quite there yet.

'You know, I am happy that he is happy, though.

'I'm dating one guy right now.'
