The Maestros pay a tribute to Late Jagjit Singh It has been a year since the one and only, world famous lyricist and singer Lt. Mr. Jagjit Singh left for the heavenly abode. In his fond memory, his wife Chitra Singh organized a tribute program. On the evening of the 10th of October, the maestros assembled at the event to celebrate Jagjit Singh's musical bequest. Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma, Anup Jalota,Shankar Mahadevan, Sonu Nigam, Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia gave soulful melodies to the evening with their performances. Chits Singh said, "The Master and His Magic' is a tribute to Jagjitji and a gift to millions of his fans. I am sure that through these unreleased original compositions his legacy will live on and his fans will relive his music. This album celebrates the history created by the legend." Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma said, "I have heard many voices but nothing like Jagjit Singh and today we have gathered here to celebrate his music. He physically may not be with us but his music will always be alive." "We are honored to be a part of this album which is a rare collection of his unreleased recordings. We have had a close relationship with the family and while releasing this album along with Mrs. Chitra Singh, we feel his blessings and there can be nothing more encouraging than this," said Shridhar Subramaniam, President India and Middle East Sony Music Entertainment.
