Tom Cruise’s son is getting ready to for battle. Connor Cruise will star in the remake of the 1984 film “Red Dawn,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film is about a group of teenagers who form an insurgency when their town is invaded by Chinese and Russian soldiers.
The 14-year-old star kid is joined by debutants Josh Hutcherson, Isabel Lucas and Edwin Hodge.
The 14 year old Connor, who was adopted by his parents, along with his sister Isabella, have already proved their acting skills in their previous flick "Seven Pounds" with Will Smith in the year 2008.
Now, he is on the segment for more box office movies as he has been signed to act in the fresh episode of 1984 action film Red Dawn, as playing the youngest in a group of high school students.
Already cast are Chris Hemsworth, Josh Peck and Adrianne Palicki.
Cruise is going to join Australian actors "Jed Eckert" and "Isabel Lucas" in this project, which is waiting to start in Detroit and Michigan in the month of September this year and programmed to hit the walls of the theater in the year 2010, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
While Lucas will play Erica, head cheerleader and the Peck character''s girlfriend, whom he desperately hopes to spring from an internment camp, Hodge will play Danny, the coolest kid in school and star wide receiver who helps establish the resistance.
The film, to be directed by Dan Bradley, will go on floors in Detroit and is set for a September 24, 2010 release.
The young cast is heading for military training in an undisclosed location in few weeks.
