The project, based on the 1935 horror classic, will be directed by Neil Burger, reports the China Daily.
And the 24-year-old actress is tipped to portray a sexier version of the terrifying female monster in the updated version.
"The Bride of Frankenstein will be young this time. They''re looking for a person with great power and sex appeal. Someone along the lines of Scarlett Johansson or Anne Hathaway,” a source said.
English actress Elsa Lanchester played the role in the older version.
