Ali Lohan and Lindsay Lohan Having Fun Together

4

Ali Lohan and Lindsay Lohan Having Fun Together in BikiniDina Lohan is (as always) responding to the collective raised eyebrows across the internet as her 15-year-old daughter Ali has been seen cavorting with Lindsay Lohan in nightclubs and on beaches instead of, you know, going to school. Like most 15-year-olds do.

She tells the New York Daily News, "She (Ali) is home-schooled. I'm a firm believer in staying in school but, in the business, it's gotten difficult for Ali to be in school."

Dina explains education is now a "little tougher for Ali", who began to learn at home after leaving her school in Long Island, New York earlier this year.

Oh, I'm sorry, what "business" is Ali Lohan in again? She got four IMDB credits to her name, and two of them are "uncredited" and one is "rumored." When I was her age I worked more than that at a part-time job at a pharmacy near my house. Yet somehow I even managed to find the time to juggle school and a minor marijuana habit on top of everything. Now, that's what I like to call a "work ethic."

Oprah Winfrey Evacuates Her Home

2

Oprah WinfreyOprah Winfrey’s been forced to evacuate her Santa Barbara home due to the proximity of the Jesusita fire that’s raging in the area. Tons of homes have burned down as a result of the fire, and Oprah’s home is now in the line of fire.

The source tells Us that movers arrived at the talk show host’s $50 million mansion, which is located just outside of Santa Barbara, and have been packing her belongings to prepare for the evacuation as the blaze continues to spread.

Winfrey was not at the house on Friday, as she was taping The Oprah Winfrey Show in Chicago.

“The fires are nearby, but her house is not within the mandatory evacuation area,” A rep for Winfrey tells Us. “We’re continuing to monitor.”

Winfrey purchased the 6-bedroom property — which covers 42 acres and is 23,000 square feet — in 2001. Michael Douglas and Rob Lowe also live in the area.

Jessica Alba wants More Babies!

0

Jessica AlbaAlba, 28, recently spoke with Extra, saying, "We'll have a few [kids], three or four." She would love to have a son!

And with each pregnancy comes the weight-gain and the pressure to lose it. Jess said she had to work hard to get slimmed down after Honor was born.

She said, "It didn't all come off at once. In fact, I shockingly gained weight right after I had the baby -- so I worked out twice a day. It wasn't fun. I ate really healthy."

Jessica said carrying her daughter helps keep her fit. "Now I don't really have time to work out so much anymore -- I'm running after my daughter and holding her. She's heavy, so that
really helps with the old arm tone."

The Love Guru actress realizes the sacrifices we often have to make when having kids. What's the hardest part for Jess? "Not sleeping. Even if she's sleeping... I still check if she's breathing. She's fine. She's just sleeping, but you still go in and make sure she's fine. Tuck her in three times."

Jessica had advice for other moms, "Leave room for mistakes -- I think nothing's going to be the way you want it to be, or exactly how you planned it."

Paula Abdul Reveals Her Struggle with Painkillers!

Paula Abdul Reveals Her Struggle with Painkillers!Paula's struggle with prescribed Painkillers:
Dealing with Simon Cowell on live TV may be a challenge – but Paula Abdul says it's nothing compared her struggle to kick her dependence on painkillers.

"I could have killed myself," Abdul, 46, tells Ladies' Home Journal in its June issue. "Withdrawal – it's the worst thing."

Abdul says she checked herself into the La Costa Resort and Spa, in Carlsbad, Calif., last Thanksgiving to help beat her use of medication. "I was freezing cold, then sweating hot, then chattering and in so much pain, it was excruciating," she says. "But at my very core, I did not like existing the way I had been."

After taking medication to combat pain from injuries that happened during her grueling years as a dancer – beginning with a back injury when she was 17 and including a neck injury sustained in a plane crash in 1993 – the American Idol judge says, "I'd been working nonstop," and her desire to carry on with her work led her to take more pain pills.

"I'm an old school professional," Abdul says of her "Never let them see you sweat" credo.

By 2005, Abdul was diagnosed with reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome, a chronic condition that resulted in debilitating pain. As a result, she wore a pain patch and took nerve medication and, occasionally, a muscle relaxant. The combo made her "get weird," she says.

Thanks to her 15th surgery, yoga and spiritual workshops, she says she feels 96 percent better. Now more comfortable in her role on Idol, Abdul says she still has some issues with Cowell. "He's like the brother I never had – or wanted," she says. "From day one, Simon and I have had a love-hate relationship"

As for her feelings toward new judge Kara DioGuardi? "It's a boys' club no more. Now, it's a sisterhood with Kara, and we're having a blast," says Abdul.

Do you have anything to talk about Paula Abdul's past dependence on prescription drugs?

Legendary 'Terminator' turns dark

0

Terminator SalvationCan the new 'Terminator' survive without Arnold and James Cameron?
Director McG is hoping for 'Salvation.'

Director McG had a bit of advice last year for a visitor to the set of "Terminator Salvation," which had set up shop in a vast hangar at Kirtland Air Force Base here. "If you go too far that way," he said, pointing across the tarmac, "someone will shoot you."

Knowing the boundaries and risking sniper fire -- those are pretty good metaphors for anyone daring enough to add an installment to the killer-robot franchise without either signature star Arnold Schwarzenegger or director James Cameron listed in the credits beyond having created the characters.

"Terminator Salvation" will arrive in theaters May 21 with new faces and a darker ethos than the earlier films in the series, but it is a companion piece to them, a pure sequel -- or is that prequel? It's difficult to say with a franchise that skips through time like some sort of "Back to the Future" with a body count.

The year is 2018 and mankind is being snuffed out by the malevolent machines of SkyNet. The man who is destined to lead the human resistance, John Connor (Bale), is now an adult but is struggling with his legacy and the suspicions of his ragged compatriots. He also is staggered when he meets Marcus Wright (Worthington), whose last memory is of being a death row prisoner before the apocalyptic attacks of SkyNet. Wright turns out to be a SkyNet-created cyborg model but one that does not match the prophecies that have guided Connor his entire life. The distrusting pair set off on a quest to find answers, and the path leads to Dr. Serena Kogen (Helena Bonham Carter) and an ending that "will shock everyone," McG promises. The cast also features hip-hop star Common, Moon Bloodgood, Anton Yelchin and Bryce Dallas Howard, the daughter of filmmaker Ron Howard.

"I do believe this is a great opportunity for me," McG said, "and we have a story to tell, state-of-the-art special effects and, in Christian Bale, nothing less than the most credible and intense action star in the world."

Intense is right. Bale became an Internet sensation in February when an extended audio recording of an especially colorful on-set rant was posted on TMZ.com. Some people laughed while others recoiled at his vicious language; after it was spoofed, turned into T-shirts and club mixes, debated and decried, a hushed Bale went on local rock radio station KROQ-FM (106.7) to offer an apology and to urge people not to punish the movie for the actions of its star.

"Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" in 2003 was directed by Jonathan Mostow ("U-571") and had a tacked-on feel to many fans, but it still pulled in $150 million at the box office domestically and an impressive $283 million overseas, an indication that Schwarzenegger is still a viable Hollywood export in this decade.

McG said he was initially skeptical about the need for another "Terminator" film. At the Kirtland hangar, during a break from filming an intense scene with arguing resistance commanders, he said that the third "Terminator" film left him cold and that he wasn't eager to tamper with the legacy of Cameron's sci-fi classics.

"Sequels that match or meet the first film are hard to pull off, still, I think," McG said. "I know I made a substandard one with the 'Charlie's Angels' sequel, and I wasn't eager to make another one that followed someone else's movies."

The script by John Brancato and Michael Ferris, though, took the characters into dark, unexpected directions and, unlike the previous three films, this one is set entirely in a grim, soul-crushing future.

Upon the film's near completion, McG set up a special early screening for Schwarzenegger, whose last starring role before his Sacramento adventure was "Terminator 3." The politician was not overwhelmed and told The Times: "I wasn't sure who the Terminator was. I don't know if there is one or if he's the star or the hero. These are the things that determine the success and how strong the movie will be."

X-Men Origins: Wolverine an excellent start to the summer 2009

X-Men Origins: Wolverine an excellent start to the summer 2009Release Date: May 1, 2009

Screenwriter: David Benioff, Skip Woods
Starring: Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, Will.i.am, Danny Huston, Dominic Monaghan, Daniel Henney, Lynn Collins
Genre: Action, Thriller

X-Men Origins: Wolverine an excellent start to the summer 2009 season

As a young boy, James Howlett (Jackman) was sickly. Doted on by his doctor father, a tragedy sends him out into the world alone -- alone, that is except for his half-brother Victor (Liev Schrieber). After surviving several wars together, the boys meet up with military man William Stryker (Danny Huston) and along with a group of fellow mutants, they search the globe for an elusive metal derived from a meteorite. When Howlett, now renamed Logan, sees the atrocities committed in pursuit of said goal, he walks away. Six years later, Stryker and Victor come calling, wanting their former ally to participate in an experiment. Fusing his frame with an experimental alloy, Logan becomes Wolverine. Unfortunately, he soon after finds himself a pawn in a much larger crusade against his kind, with his murderous sibling front and center.

Except for the last act appearance of a rather uninspired Weapon XI, X-Men Origins: Wolverine is an excellent example of its type. It features the undeniable talents of its "too good to be true" lead actor, and fleshes out his frequently topless physique with all manner of interesting individual diversions. This is first and foremost a character study, albeit it one with killer action sequences and a real sense of scope. What new director Gavin Hood gives this fourth film in the franchise that both Bryan Singer and part-three replacement Brett Ratner missed is the concept of scope. By focusing on only a select group of mutants and not worrying if everyone gets their oh-so-sacred screen time, a sense of depth and detail is created. We learn more about these particular people than the participants in any other X-Men movie.

That doesn't mean Wolverine is all touchy-feely emotions and gloomy self-absorption. The stuntwork here is impressive, though the CGI occasionally shows through, and when pushed into questions of plausibility, Hood goes for the cheap laugh (an old lady's nonchalant comment as a nude Jackman scrambles across the road and into her barn). With the introduction of favored icons from the comics that really don't pay off (including a hilarious looking Blob and that unfathomable fan favorite, Gambit) and a last act confrontation that's more special effects than satisfying, this is not a perfect film. But when you look back at all the previous installments in the franchise, this one soars straight to the top.

Certainly there will be purists who balk at how Hood and his screenwriters mangle and manipulate the mythology, and any ending which leaves several characters unexplained and unaccounted for can't really seal the full entertainment deal. But thanks to Jackman, and an equally enigmatic turn by Schreiber, X-Men Origins: Wolverine suggests that not all back stories undermine the original material's effectiveness. In fact, this is a clear case where history does a better job with a well-known persona than the films that were supposed to establish him in the first place.

Obsessed 2009 General Movie Reviews

Obsessed 2009, Idris Elba, Beyoncé Knowles, Ali LarterStarring: Idris Elba, Beyoncé Knowles, Ali Larter
Director: Steve Shill
Studio: Screen Gems
Rating: PG-13 (For sexual material including some suggestive dialogue, some violence and thematic content.)
Genre: Thriller
Release Date: April 24, 2009

Review 1:Just saw the film and I really enjoyed it. The plot was plausible, but the acting was very good and the movie moved very quickly. Both Beyonce and Idris Elba did a strong job along with the actress who played Lisa. It is really refreshing to see an affluent black family that is not disfunctional, a strong black family man and a successful black man who is not chasing white skirts. Beyonce did what she had to do to keep her family together and that is that!

Review 2:
It was great!!!! Highly recommend seeing this flick especially if you want to see B kick some butt.....should have been a longer more intense fight scene but loved it all. The whole cast was great....I was great to see Beyonce outside of her great singing and performing to show others she can do it all....!
